His Hong Kong and Hollywood-produced films elevated the traditional Hong Kong martial arts film to a new level of popularity and acclaim, and sparked the second major surge of interest in Chinese martial arts in the West, Lee became a very iconic figure, particularly among the Chinese, as he portrayed Chinese national pride and Chinese nationalism in his movies. Interestingly Lee's combat movements were at times too fast to be captured on film for clear slow motion replay using the traditional 24 frames per second of that era, so many scenes were shot in 32 frames per second for better clarity and Lee could break wooden boards 6 inches (15 cm) thick. A great choice for a martial arts film.
